The state chairman of TUC, comrade Akeem Lasisi made the call in Abeokuta at the 2024 annual training of TUC executives, last Wednesday.

He also pleaded with the state government to resolve the outstanding issues over the contributory pension scheme and the payment of outstanding gratuities and consequential adjustment to pensioners across the board.

Also, the TUC chairman urged the state government to be ready for the immediate implementation of the new national minimum wage, about to be negotiated and payable, as from April.

Lasisi however, said the congress was optimistic that the Abiodun administration as in the past would lead other states in implementing the proposed new wage, while other states would follow.

He added that the congress appreciated the Abiodun administration for being workers friendly and expressed gratitude of members for the Christmas bonus and other form of incentives given to workers.

Lasisi however, said TUC would continue to be resolute, firm and brave in bringing what is fair and just for workers in all its negotiations with the state government.
