Historical Developments of EYFC

Originating in 2018 as the Abeokuta Youth Football Championship, the tournament underwent a rebranding in 2019, adopting the name Egba Youth Football Championship to encompass the six local government areas in Ogun Central Senatorial District.

The 2020 and 2023 editions faced disruptions, with the former attributed to the global football calendar’s Covid-19-induced hiatus and the latter to administrative reasons.

Recalling the previous edition held in 2022, Ajax Sporting Club emerged victorious, securing a 1-0 triumph over Trace FC in the final at the Muda Lawal Stadium, Abeokuta while Debash FC claimed the third position, overcoming Patriots FC in a thrilling 3-3 draw, ultimately succeeding in a penalty shoot-out.
