A third term member of Federal House of Reps,Hon.Jimoh Olushola Ojugbele on Thursday declared his intention to contest for Ogun West Senatorial Seat come 2027 after a meritorious service to the good people of Ado Odo Ota federal Constituency spanning three terms.

The people’s Parliamentarian made this disclosure to selected journalists at a parley in his Joju Constituency Office this Thursday.

The front burner of his parley centered on what he was able to achieve and facilitate to his Constituency during his tenure in the House of Reps.Going further,he assured the media of coming out, very soon, with “encyclopedia” of his achievements while in office.

In his words, “the National Assembly to me is never for beginners.Look at what Senator Solomon Olamilekan Yayi has done to Ogun West in less than two years in office. It is incredible, marvelous and very desirable. Therefore, whoever will take over from him must be someone who has the wherewithal, the experience and the charisma to leverage his midas touch on Ogun West.

The Senate to me is not a place for a novice or a starter. For you to adequately bring dividends of democracy to justify the mandate given to you by the people, your experience must be total.”

Asked about his acceptability, Ojugbele affirmed that “my past records are there for everybody to see.Come to my Constituency any day ,even without being in office, you will definitely form an opinion.”

What if Senator YAYI decided to return to the Senate… (Ojugbele cuts in)…”No no . God forbids.Senator YAYI Inshallah is going for the governorship and Ogun West via Senator YAYI will be the next governor of Ogun State after our indefatigable and amiable present governor,Prince Dapo Abiodun who has equally done well for the people of Ogun State.

“If you care to know, since Ogun State was created in 1976,Ogun Westerner has not been to Okemosan as a governor. This time,by the grace of Almighty Allah,we are going to break the jinx as Senator Adeola Yayi will be our governor come 2027.”

“With that, the position of the Senate has to come to Ado Odo Ota Local Government because Ogun West is Yewa-Awori and Yewa-Awori is Ogun West.”

Finally I want to say that,I know my people and my people know me.I know where the shoes pinche them.At every point in time,I can forecast their needs and provide them there needs.I would not build school for those who need fertilizers. And I wouldn’t provide health center for those who need start up capital and empowerment items

That’s more reason many of them have approached me to plead and appeal to me to throw my hat in the ring for the Ogun West Senatorial Seat.

Crisis has hit an Egba coalition group, Egbalokan agenda 2027, over the claim that Senator Olamilekan Adeola’s mother is an indigene of Abeokuta, in the Ogun central senatorial district.
The dispute has split the coalition group founded by a senior advocate, Professor Yemi Oke, into factions.
In the latest development, Professor Oke refuted claims that he was being paid to campaign for Senator Adeola, popularly called Yayi, as one of the indigenes of Abeokuta, qualified to join the 2027 governorship race as an Egba candidate.
Professor Yemi Oke in a recent social media post said no politician in Ogun state, dead or alive, had given him a dime or paid for his loyalty.
He challenged those behind the claim to identify themselves.
The crisis began when the coalition in its post, identified Senator Adeola as one of several indigenes of egba who is qualified as an Egba aspirant for the 2027 governorship poll.
A faction of the group in a counter claim by its chairman, Chief Mustapha Abdulhakeem described Professor Oke’s claim that Yayi is an Egba indigene as misleading, mischievous and fallacy.
The faction said egba is not short of qualified candidates for any level of governance that it would endorse Yayi yet to be acknowledged by the Alake of Egbaland, as an Egba son.
In response, the Yemi Oke led group had announced the expulsion of members of the faction from the coalition group.
The coalition group in a statement dated January 2, 2025 accused those expelled of attempting to confuse the public about its mission.
According to Yemi Oke, the alleged leader of the faction is a retired nurse, who just returned to Nigeria.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity in identifying aspirants of Egba origin qualified for the 2027 Ogun state governorship race.
